Discover Fun Camp
Privacy Policy
How We Collect, Use, Protect, and Share Personal Information
Effective and last updated: September 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Discover Fun Camp (“DFC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information collected through our website, registration systems, communications, and programs.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through discoverfuncamp.com, online and paper forms, registration and enrollment systems, email and SMS communications, phone calls, events, and participation in Discover Fun Camp programs and services. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that publish their own privacy policies.
2. Information We Collect
Information provided by families and other individuals
- Parent, guardian, and household information, such as names, mailing addresses, email addresses, mobile phone numbers, and relationships to participants.
- Participant information, such as a child’s name, age or date of birth, school or grade, program selections, attendance, authorized pickup contacts, and other enrollment details.
- Health and safety information that a parent or legal guardian chooses or is required to provide, including allergies, medications, accommodations, emergency contacts, and information needed to support safe participation.
- Registration, account, and transaction information, including enrollments, payment-plan status, balances, credits, refunds, makeup tokens, and transaction records. Payment card information may be collected and processed directly by a third-party payment processor; DFC may receive limited transaction details rather than a complete card number.
- Communications and submissions, including inquiries, forms, emails, text messages, call notes, survey responses, feedback, and requests for support.
- Photos, videos, testimonials, or other media when submitted to DFC or collected and used in accordance with applicable permissions or releases.
Information collected automatically
When someone visits our website or interacts with our online services, we and our service providers may collect technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, approximate location derived from an IP address, and cookie or analytics identifiers.
3. How We Collect Information
We collect information directly from parents, guardians, participants, prospective families, and other contacts. We may also receive information through our website, registration and payment platforms, customer relationship management system, forms, email and SMS providers, program partners, schools, and other service providers used to operate DFC programs.
4. How We Use Information
We may use personal information to:
- Respond to inquiries and provide requested information.
- Process registrations, enrollments, payments, payment plans, credits, refunds, and account requests.
- Administer camps, after-school programs, clubs, events, transportation, attendance, authorized pickup, and other services.
- Support participant health, safety, accommodations, emergency response, and program operations.
- Send confirmations, reminders, schedules, payment notices, missing-document requests, location or transportation updates, weather or closure alerts, safety communications, and other service-related messages.
- Send marketing communications about programs, registration opportunities, events, and offers when the recipient has provided the required consent.
- Maintain records, improve our programs and website, understand engagement, train staff, prevent fraud or misuse, and protect DFC, participants, families, and others.
- Comply with applicable laws, contracts, legal processes, and recordkeeping requirements.
5. How We Share Information
We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to:
- Service providers that support registration, customer relationship management, payments, email, SMS, website hosting, analytics, document storage, scheduling, transportation, and other business operations.
- Schools, facilities, program partners, instructors, transportation providers, health or emergency personnel, and authorized staff when needed to provide a program, fulfill a family’s request, or protect health and safety.
- Government agencies, courts, law enforcement, legal advisers, insurers, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, or the integrity of our services.
- A successor or prospective successor in connection with a merger, reorganization, financing, sale, or transfer of all or part of DFC, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
Discover Fun Camp does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We do not disclose personal information to unaffiliated third parties for their own direct marketing purposes without appropriate consent.
6. SMS and Mobile Information
When you provide a mobile phone number and expressly opt in to receive text messages, DFC may use that number to send enrollment communications, program updates, event and appointment reminders, operational notices, promotional offers, and other information related to our programs and services.
We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the Text Message services.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. After a STOP request, you may receive one final confirmation message. For assistance, reply HELP or contact enrollment@discoverfuncamp.com. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
SMS consent is not a condition of purchasing or enrolling in a DFC program. Opting out of text messages does not cancel an enrollment, payment obligation, or other agreement. When permitted by law, DFC may continue to contact a family through other available channels concerning an active inquiry, registration, account, payment, safety matter, emergency, or enrolled program.
7. Email and Communication Choices
Recipients may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe or preferences link in an applicable message. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not prevent DFC from sending service-related or transactional communications reasonably necessary to administer an inquiry, registration, enrollment, payment, safety matter, or other existing relationship.
Families are encouraged to maintain an opt-in for Camp & Program Updates so they do not miss enrolled-program information. DFC will make reasonable efforts to keep families informed, but cannot guarantee that every message will be delivered, opened, or reviewed. Choosing to opt out of optional communications does not waive registration deadlines, payment obligations, cancellation requirements, policies, or other program conditions when DFC has made reasonable efforts to provide the information through available channels.
8. Cookies and Analytics
Our website and service providers may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand site traffic, measure engagement, and improve services. Browser settings may allow users to block or delete cookies, but doing so may affect certain website functions.
9. Children’s Privacy
DFC provides programs for children, but our website, registration processes, and account communications are intended to be used by parents, legal guardians, and other authorized adults. Parents and legal guardians may provide information about children as needed for enrollment and participation. Children should not independently submit personal information through our website or registration systems without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has submitted information without appropriate adult involvement, please contact us so we can review the matter.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. Access is limited to personnel and service providers who need information for authorized purposes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain enrollment and business records, address safety and support needs, fulfill legal and contractual obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information, the relationship with DFC, operational needs, and applicable law. Information may be deleted, anonymized, or securely archived when it is no longer required.
12. Your Choices and Requests
You may ask to review, correct, or update the contact or enrollment information associated with your family. You may also request deletion of certain information, subject to DFC’s legal, safety, recordkeeping, contractual, and operational obligations. We may need to verify the identity and authority of the person making a request before acting on it.
To update communication preferences, use the options provided in an applicable email or text message, or email explore@discoverfuncamp.com.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
DFC may use or link to third-party registration, payment, scheduling, social-media, map, or other services. Those services may collect information under their own privacy policies and terms. We encourage families to review the policies of any third-party service they use.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices, services, or legal obligations change. The updated version will be posted with a revised effective or last-updated date. Material changes may also be communicated through our website, email, account notices, or other appropriate means.
